The Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) is now open for business, allowing full and part time students to submit their funding applications for academic year 2018-19.
The new online system, introduced last year, allows students to manage their funding applications in a more streamlined way through either mobile or desktop devices.
Mr Crawford is encouraging students to apply now to ensure that funding is in place for the start of their courses. Applications can be made on saas.gov.uk.
Commenting, Bruce Crawford said:
“The SNP Scottish Government scraped tuition fees in Scotland and has protected free further and higher education as a matter of principle. To benefit from this, students must apply for tuition funding and any additional financial support through SAAS.
“The Scottish Government has also committed tuition funding for students from the EU who are enrolling this year and next.
“I would urge students to apply now with all the supporting evidence they require in order to ensure they have everything in place for starting their course.
“It is important that all students get the funding that they are entitled to. If you require further information or support, make sure you contact SAAS directly who have a team of people on hand to answer enquiries and offer advice.”
