Stirling MSP Bruce Crawford is writing to Scotia Gas Networks (SGN) to find out exactly how many communities and properties in the Stirling Constituency are not connected to the mains gas network.

A number of constituents have contacted Mr Crawford in recent months – particularly during the prolonged cold winter months experienced earlier this year – raising their complaints that they were not connected.

Commenting, Bruce Crawford said:

“We already know that communities like Buchlyvie and Kippen are not connected to a mains gas supply and, for many households, it can be a much more efficient way to heat your home.

“In order to tackle this problem head on, we need to know the scale of the issue. That’s why I have written to the SGN for this information so that I can begin to understand where the black spots are and what can be done to get more people in rural Stirling access to mains gas.”
