Stirling MSP Bruce Crawford has congratulated budding journalists from the University of Stirling on multiple nominations across a number of categories in the 2018 Scottish Student Journalism Awards.


Students and the University have a total of 17 nominations across 9 categories for for their involvement with the University’s media societies, including: Brig Newspaper, Air3 Radio and AirTV.


The awards event is to be held on May 30th.


Mr Crawford has submitted a motion to the Scottish Parliament, commending the nominations.


Commending, he said:


“The local student nominees are a fantastic example of excellent budding journalism.


“Publications such as Brig Newspaper are professionally produced and give students a great insight on local issues, as well as giving a space for opinion, discussion and debate.


“I am delighted that so many local students have been nominated, and I wish all of them the very best of luck for May 30th!”
