Major Business Site Development Confirmed Amid Crisis
The Ambassador Group have confirmed that they intend to proceed with development plans for the Craigforth site on the outskirts of Stirling city.
The proposal includes offices, retail, leisure, pubs, restaurants, residential, hotel, a care home, distillery, visitor centre, nursery and other infrastructure across 110 acres of land.
The proposal will be subject to Stirling Council’s planning procedures, however it has been welcomed by leading Stirling SNP politicians.
Stirling Council Leader, Scott Farmer said:
“Earlier this year, we signed off a multi-partner City Region Deal, worth over £90 million. One main purpose of this was to unlock further economic potential for the area, marking Stirling as the place to do business. The Covid-19 crisis has meant that we are potentially facing a period of economic hardship, so this continued commitment from the Ambassador Group is a shot in the arm for the local Stirling economy, for jobs, and for livelihoods.”
Stirling MSP Bruce Crawford said:
“This is a significant investment into the Stirling area and means a complete transformation of the Craigforth area. This is exciting and is the vote of confidence that our local economy needs right now. I’m keen to work in any way I can to support this project and to see it come to fruition as it provides a potentially exciting future for Stirling communities.”
Stirling MP Alyn Smith said:
“This is an encouraging indication and I’m keen to see this major project take form. Stirling offers so much to people who live here and to visitors too, but it has so much more potential. Bringing communities together with businesses that customers from all over seems to me the smart way to grow our local area. This is also a sure sign to others that the place to invest is right here in Stirling.”
