Stirling MSP Bruce Crawford visited the Historic Engine Shed at Forthside on Friday as the new whinstone monolith was being erected.
The stone itself is from Tradstocks in Thornhill.
Mr Crawford was also updated on a number of projects being undertaken at the Engine Shed Conservation Centre by Director of Conservation, David Mitchell.
Commenting, Bruce Crawford said:
“This monolith is a remarkable piece of stone work – from Scottish whinstone sourced in Thornhill.
“I was delighted to see it just as it had been erected at the Historic Engine Shed, which has already made a name for itself in its contribution to conservation innovation and research.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to receiving an update on recent ongoings at the facility and look forward to some of the future projects in the pipeline.”
