Stirling MSP Bruce Crawford has written to the planning agency involved in a planning application in the Craigmill, Blairlogie area, calling for their client to withdraw their speculative application.
The application would see a residential care home, a community hub, and retirement units built onto green belt land. This would also include significant landscaping.
Mr Crawford has cited concerns brought to him by local residents and that this application would contradict the local development plan.
Commenting, he said:
“Such a development would certainly impact on the Wallace Monument and the surrounding green belt area. Therefore, I am seriously concerned about the implications that this application, if ever formally applied for and granted, would have.
“Whilst I am supportive of investment to bring more modern care facilities for older people to Stirling, this simply isn’t the right location.
“I have therefore written to the agency involved in this matter, and have asked that their client withdraw this specific application.”
