Local MSP Bruce Crawford joined the Forestry Commission team for a tour of some of their activities in the Stirling Constituency this week.

 

During his visit, Mr Crawford saw and was updated on:

 

The local Harvesting Machinery Investment – visiting the active site with mechanised thinning team.

Your Park – collaborative working on the Three Lochs Drive.

Loch Katrine – an update on activity.

Community Asset Transfer Scheme – an update on Coilhallen.

Eagle project – impact of woodland on eagle activity.

Goats – Kinlochard community concerns.

Larch disease – Phytophthora ramorum and clearfelling of larch.

Mr Crawford also had an opportunity to jump on board a forestry harvester.

 

Commenting, he said:

 

“This was a positive meeting with the Forestry Commission, and a good chance for me to learn more about their ongoing activity in the constituency.

 

“I was pleased that the Commission was undertaking work on issues that a number of local residents have written to me about, and my visit was an opportunity to find out about their numerous projects in the area.”
