Stirling MSP Bruce Crawford met with owners Cameron and June McCann last week to check out the site for their new Stirling Gin distillery.
The site is at the old school building on Upper Bridge Street. It has recently had a new roof installed and is currently being renovated to become a working distillery and visitors’ centre for Stirling Gin.
Mr and Mrs McCann hope to be producing gin from the site – understood to be the first ever legal distillery built on Stirling’s castle rock – by Christmas time this year.
Commenting, Bruce Crawford said:
“I was delighted to see the bones of the building – and what is to become a rather special visitors’ centre and distillery.
“Scottish gin has really taken off across the globe in recent years, and it is fantastic that Stirling City will now have its very own distillery for gin.
“I am pleased that efforts are being made to retain the beauty of this historical building and I very much look forward to being invited back to see the finished product.”
